In Canberra, young boys who have loved singing in a choir have had to give it up as their voice began to change – there was simply no group for them to progress to. Until now…
We saw a need to create an ensemble that could cater to boys with changing voices (from about age 13), and support them through this time so they can continue to enjoy singing, whilst learning new musical and vocal skills as they begin to experience their new voice.
We will also explore different styles of music, expand musical skills, perform at Carols by Candlelight at Stage 88, and take part in workshops!
Recent studies have shown the benefits gained from singing, and singing in a group provides young men with a collegiate, supportive atmosphere, where they can make new friends – just what they need in the teen years!
Directed by Lucus Allerton, this ensemble will support young boys to find their new voice in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
Everyone has a place where they can shine, and so we invite young men of any experience level to join us.
