Scholarships

WVYC is excited to offer a range of scholarships to its choristers. While some of these scholarships are aimed at identifying, recognising and rewarding our high achievers, we are also committed to assisting those choristers who may struggle to afford the costs associated with participating in the choir.

Assessments of Applications

Scholarship applicants will be notified by Tuesday 28th November and awarded the Scholarship at the Christmas Concert on Tuesday 4th December.  In the event that a consensus cannot be reached by the committee and music team, the Artistic Director has the final decision. Recipients cannot be awarded this scholarship in two consecutive years.

WVYC Fincancial Support Bursaries

WVYC is dedicated to ensuring that cost is not a prohibitive factor for young people participating in the choir. As such, WVYC is offering up to four financial support bursaries to help families who, for various reasons, may find it difficult to afford costs associated with joining WVYC.

The bursaries are valued at $2,000 annually, providing up to 4 x $500 or 2 x $1,000 bursaries as the need arises.

Bursaries will be granted as a fee waiver to successful recipients.

How to apply

Please complete the WVYC Financial Support Bursary Application Form and submit it, along with supporting documents, to wvyc.president@gmail.com

Applications for this bursary can be submitted throughout the year and will be applied from the term indicated on the application form.

Bursaries are not ongoing. Applicants who wish to continue receiving the bursary beyond its term will need to reapply.

Assessments of Applications

All applications will be considered by a panel consisting of selected members of the WYVC Committee, chaired by the President. Bursary applicants will be notified of the application outcome by email within two weeks of submission. In the event that a consensus cannot be reached by the panel, the President has the final decision.

Where an applicant is a family member, or close friend, of a panel member, that panel member will announce a conflict of interest and withdraw from the assessment process for the relevant chorister where the conflict exists.
