Neille Williams – Conductor

The daughter of a Sydney jazz pianist, Neille was encouraged to play and compose music from an early age. After completing a Music Degree with Honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Neille undertook further study with Kerrie Biddell (singing), Mark Walton and Ros Dunlop (clarinet) and David Birks (saxophone). She also completed a Masters-level qualification in band, orchestra and choral conducting.

After several years performing around Australia and abroad, with such notable musicians as Jon English and Natalie Bassingthwaite, Neille returned to Sydney and then Canberra to raise her family.

The last 5 years has seen a return to full-time music for Neille. Since then, she has performed in musicals, sang with swing bands, run a highly-successful original music program for pre-school children, composed for soloists and ensembles and has maintained a full-to-capacity studio of private students. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience as a conductor for Woden Valley Youth Choir and feels privileged to be part of these young singers’ experience of music and singing as a whole.
